Manhunt launched for cop killers
One of the culprits was armed with an R5 rifle and shot at the two officers.
A manhunt has been launched for two men after an officer was shot and killed in Mabopane on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu said two police officers saw a white Audi A4 driving suspiciously and pursued it.
She said the Audi stopped at Bushveld Road near Walters garage in Mabopane Block B.
“We [police] suspect the vehicle had two people inside.”
She said one of the culprits was armed with an R5 rifle and shot at the two officers.
She said Constable Mdluli was shot in the head and died at the scene.
Constable Moloisane was transported to hospital for trauma counselling, but he was not wounded.
Both suspects fled the scene.
We are appealing to the community to contact the investigating officer Colonel Bok on 082 412 4047 with any information that may assist in the arrest of the suspects.
