The department of tourism has warned its suppliers and the public against a tender scam that requires upfront payment in doing business with the department.
“These fraudsters use fictitious departmental documents such as letters of appointments, purchase orders and contracts.”
The department said its suppliers were not expected to pay any up front fee for tenders.
“All tenders are advertised within the context of prescribed prescripts,” said the department.
The department has urged the public and suppliers to be vigilant and report suspected scams to the police.
