Man nabbed in possession of firearm
"The client said they saw a man in their yard around 03:00 in the morning."
A man was arrested in the east of Pretoria for possession of a firearm, cellphones and housebreaking tools on Thursday morning.
Bull security spokesperson French Jooste said officers responded to a distress call from a client in Wingate Park around 03:00.
The client said a man was in their yard.
“On arrival at the scene, our security officers spotted the man inside another residence,” said Jooste.
The man was quickly apprehended when he attempted to make his escape.
“The officers found housebreaking tools, two cellphones and a 22-calibre firearm in the man’s possession.”
Jooste said the man was handed over to Lyttelton police station.
He said Brinant security also assisted in the man’s arrest.
Lyttelton police were still to confirm the arrest at the time of publishing.
