Four men have been arrested in possession of petrol bombs in the north of Pretoria on Wednesday night.

Police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele said the men were arrested while police were carrying out a random stop-and-search operation on Zambezi and Sefako Makgatho drives around 22:00.

“The four men driving a Toyota Hilux were stopped.”

Makhubele said four petrol bombs were found inside the vehicle. The men were arrested and a docket of possession of petrol bombs was opened.

He said it was unclear where the men were headed but investigations were underway.

The men were scheduled to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s court within 48 hours after their arrest.
