Armed men raid child’s party

The family and guests were celebrating when armed men stormed into the house.

Four armed men interrupted guests at a child’s birthday and robbed a house in Laudium at the weekend.

The family and guests were celebrating when four armed men stormed into a house in Himalaya Street around 20:00 on Saturday night.

One man pointed a rifle at the guests, police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said.

“The other three ransacked the house. They took cellphones, jewellery, a Samsung plasma TV and other electrical appliances.”

The men then fled the scene.

Police could not yet confirm if the guests were also robbed.

“So far we were only told about the items taken from the house. No arrests have been made and a manhunt was launched.”

A case of house robbery was being investigated and anyone with information is urged to report to their nearest police station, Moloto said.
