Mother foils mall robbery
The mother pushed her way out of the store when she noticed suspicious men at the entrance.
A Centurion woman who foiled a robbery at Vodashop in the Mall@Reds followed her intuition.
The mother, who wished to remain anonymous, was with her son at the time and said she became suspicious when she noticed the would-be robbers come into the shop.
“We were in the queue at the entrance,” she said.
“When the men entered the shop around 09:09 on Sunday, they just looked suspicious so I told my son we should leave.
“As I turned to leave, two men were standing in the entrance and one tried to pull me back into the store. I ripped myself loose and told my son to run.”
She said they informed a security guard about the attempted robbery.
Orange Fox security spokesperson Marce Bester said the four men quickly fled when they noticed security staff were onto them.
“No one was injured during the attempted robbery and nothing was taken.”
