Armed robbery at Baviaanspoort Correctional Service
Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Two armed men stormed guards at the Baviaanspoort Correctional Services during the early hours of Sunday.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Sam Shibambo said the men forced the security guards at around 00:50 on Sunday to open the gates.
“The security guards were forced to take the armed men to the safe where they were instructed to open it. Two firearms were taken out of the safe”
According to Shibambo the armed men fled with firearms, a cell phone and a laptop in a green Volkswagen City Golf.
Police are investigating a case of business robbery.
