Female cops make their presence felt

The operation will be continued throughout Women’s Month.

Female police officers are making their presence felt in the streets of Ga-Rankuwa.

The officers, under Operation Basadi, made a number of arrests this week, following stop and search roadblocks.

Police spokesperson Captain Matthews Nkoadi said the women in blue were leaving no stone unturned in the fight against crime.

The operation comprised roadblocks and stop and searches in all major roads.

“A total of 73 road traffic offence fines were issued to the value of R44 550,” said Nkoadi.

The operation included all women in the Tshwane north cluster, Tshwane metro police, correctional services, and the departments of community safety and home affairs.

Nkoadi said the operation would continue throughout August [Women’s Month].

Cluster commander Major-General Hilda Mohajane thanked all participating members for their hard work and dedication.

Nkoadi appealed to residents to report any misconduct and/or any criminal activity by the police.
