Motorists fined in roadblock operation

“These operations will be conducted regularly in different areas to ensure safety for all.”

Over 200 fines were issued to motorists during a roadblock conducted by the Tshwane Metro Police Department in Pretoria West on Friday.

Police spokesperson Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said the roadblocks were held to check vehicle roadworthiness.

He said 292 fines were issued and two motorists were arrested for drug possession.

Mahamba said motorists were advised to ensure that their vehicles were roadworthy.
