The likes of Tim Southee and Trent Bolt were made to work this time around after they made light work of the Proteas battling line up in the first test in Durban.
South Africa had suffered a major blow in the morning when opener Dean Elgar was injured before play.

Stiaan van Zyl was called in as a replacement for the Titans man.
De Kock opted to open with Van Zyl dropping deep.
