Roaring Harley-ride to Dullstroom
More than 200 Harley Davidson riders were expected at this year’s “Harleystroom”.
More than 85 roaring motorcycles made heads turn in the north of Pretoria on Friday morning.
The annual Harley Davidson exodus to Dullstroom was underway at 09:00 from the Harley Davidson Zambezi club.
“We have about 30 percent more people registered for this year’s ‘Harleystroom’,” said pack leader Michael Viljoen on scene.
“About 50 riders will leave here with us from the Harley Davidson Zambezi club and more will join us on the road.”
The Harley Owner’s Group (HOGs) consists of millions of riders worldwide. They contribute to charities and organisations around the world.
The Harley Davidson Zambezi club took hands with Sport Against Crime and the Gauteng Traffic Police this year.
Supporters, including DA-councillors, saw the riders off at the club in Lavender Road.
“This is a road safety initiative and awareness drive. We thank the Gauteng traffic police for their involvement and escorting the riders all the way to the Mpumalanga border,” said Chris Batts founder of Sport Against Crime.

“We are absolutely blessed. It’s is an amazing turnout this year,” said Viljoen.
