Eleven arrested for shootings in Eersterust
This included the suspects who shot and killed a thirty-six year old man on Saturday.
Eleven suspects were recently arrested in connection with the shootings in Eersterust.
“The police in Eersterust launched a manhunt for the armed suspects involved in four separate shootings,” spokesperson, Sergeant Sam Shibambo said.
This included the suspects who shot and killed a 36-year-old man on Saturday.
“After several searches the police re-embarked on an intensive manhunt for all the suspects,” Shibambo said, adding that three suspected of involvement in Saturday’s murder were arrested in their hide-out in Kameeldrift.
“The rest were arrested at a lodge also in Kameeldrift. This brings the total arrested to 11.”
It is alleged that on Saturday, the victim grabbed a firearm from one of the suspects and ran away.
“The three suspects pursued him and fatally shot him in Holworthy Street. A few metres from his home,” Shibambo said.
The victim succumbed to his injuries and died. A murder case was opened.
All the suspects will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon to face charges ranging from malicious damage to murder.
