Two arrested for burglary in Sunnyside
Police caught the two burglars as they were about to break the door of the flat.
Police arrested two men in Sunnyside over burglary on Thursday after receiving a tip-off.
This happened at a flat in Leyds Street.
Sunnyside police spokesperson captain Daniel Mavimbela said the culprits were reported by a resident who saw them.
“Police sprung to action immediately after receiving the call about a housebreaking in progress,” Mavimbela said.
“The suspects were cornered while in the process of breaking a door open at a flat.”
The two men were both 24-years-old and were from Mamelodi.
Sunnyside police commander Brigadier Wiseman Mthembu, applauded residents for assisting police in making this arrest.
The two men would appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
