Vehicle theft which was once a problem at Hercules Clinic and Bougainville Shopping Centre west of Pretoria seems to be under control.
According to police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango they haven’t had cases relating to vehicle theft in the past few months.
“It was a huge problem a while back but it seems to have quietened down,” he said.
Msimango said this is because residents, the CPF and police have been working hand in hand to combat crime.
“I think it is quiet because of police visibility, alertness of community members and the activeness of the CPF in this area. Especially the CPF, they are doing a good job,” he said.
Msimango thanked the CPF for their partnership and encouraged residents who were not active yet in reporting crime, to do so.
“At the end of the day it is for their own benefit,” he concluded.
