The Bulls hope that Pretoria’s rugby fans will rush to Loftus Versfeld in their thousands on Saturday to support them in the Currie Cup semi-final against Western Province.
Rugby
Last year the Blue Bulls also played against the Western Province in the semi-final of the Currie Cup, but they lost that game after they had a very good season beforehand.
This year, Nollis Marais and his team are a bit more experienced and their fans will believe they will not stumble again at the penultimate hurdle. The game starts at 18:00.
Rugby fans who wish to attend are welcome to turn up at Loftus at 15:00 to support the team from Pretoria Police in the Gold Cup quarter-final. They play against False Bay from the Cape.
Cricket
The Titans started their first domestic tournament under their new coach (Mark Boucher) with a four wicket defeat against the Knights.
Their second game in the Sunfoil Four-day series against the Warriors in Port Elizabeth started earlier this week and should end on Friday 14 October.
Athletics
The Jacaranda City Marathon Challenge is the “City Marathon” for Pretoria. It will be presented for the 19th time on Saturday and the event remains one of the prestigious races in Gauteng.
It will start and end at the head office of the SABS in Groenkloof, Pretoria. The event consists of a 42,2km marathon, a 21,1km half marathon, a 10km road race and a 5km fun run.

Soccer
In the first of their two final games in Africa’s biggest club competition, the CAF Champions League 2016, Mamelodi Sundowns and Zamalek from Egypt will meet at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday at 15:00.
From this week, the local Premier League will also be in full swing again. The only local team that will be in action is SuperSport United. The will take on Highlands Park at the Lucas Moripe Stadium at 15:30 on Sunday.
