Fashion Week in Mamelodi
Ikageng community hall was the place to be over the weekend.
The annual Mamelodi Fashion Week (MFW) spring/summer collection 2016 was attended well at Ikageng Community Hall on Saturday.
Mpho Mothupi, media liaison officer of MFW said almost 400 people dressed for the occasion attended.
“The event was inspired by a passion for fashion and recognising young people in different communities who have talent and potential to stimulate sustainable economic growth,” Mothupi said.
“The overall objective of MFW is to encourage youth entrepreneurship and promote partnerships for greater exposure to the fashion industry, through this we aim to create jobs with access to international competitive stardom,” said Mothupi.

Mothupi said the event was growing each year since its inception in 2013 and they were planning to host it twice a year.
“And for this year we had a collection of all designs, diverse and it accommodated everyone including children for the first Bugzi Bathini fashion clothing, for children from 0 to 8 years of age,” he said.
“Our major challenge as MFW is funding as sponsorship is a big problem at this stage and we are confident there will be vast interest as the MFW brand continues to elevate to optimal levels,” said.
