Man charged for growing weed

Mamelodi man arrested for cultivating dagga.

The Mamelodi East police arrested a 30-year-old man on Thursday morning for cultivating dagga in his backyard.

Spokesperson, Captain Michael Mbewe said the police on patrol in Mamelosi East, Extension 11 spotted the plantation.

“The man was arrested because the plantation was found in his yard,” said Mbewe.

He will soon appear in the Mamelodi Magistrate’s Court for possession of dagga.

He sang praises of the arresting team for its good work and encouraged residents to bring any information about any suspicious activity or person to the police by calling 08600-10111.
