Two held over killing

The men shot a former dealer in Hercules after he told them he had stopped selling drugs.

Two men were arrested in Hercules at the weekend for killing a former drug dealer.

Police spokesperson Agnes Huma said the two men entered an informal settlement near Hercules on Sunday, in search of drugs.

Huma said the two found the victim in his home and asked for drugs, but was told he no longer sold drugs.

The men then ransacked the victim’s home and shot him, she said.

“The two men, aged 29 and 27, shot the victim in the upper body on Sunday afternoon.”

He died on the scene.

Following a tip-off from a resident, police tracked down and arrested the two men in Hercules.

Huma said the men were still in police custody after appearing in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
