A video of a woman slapping her newborn baby had social media abuzz on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Mirror UK, the footage originated in Kazakhstan.
The 57 second clip shows the woman slapping the crying baby in the face at least 42 times.
The video was made public by the child’s father in an attempt to get the police to act, The Sun reported.
“The chilling footage was filmed in northeastern Kazakhstan in the city of Pavlodar on the mobile phone of the mother, identified as 34-year-old Nurgul, who apparently took the video to try and blackmail the father to get more money from him,” The Sun said.
The video has sparked outrage on Facebook, with many demanding the woman to be arrested.
