Two men were arrested on Sunday afternoon during a house robbery east of Pretoria.
The men broke into the house and the teenage girl in the house notified the local CPF.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Colette Weilbach, the chairperson of Brooklyn CPF, Paul Fouchee, who answered the girl’s distress call around 14:00, immediately dispatched an officer.

A security officer from CSI tactical response, Nico Mans, was first on the scene.
“He spotted the men as they were on their way out of the house with a TV set and when they saw him, he started shooting.”
He returned fire and one was injured and ran back into the house while the other jumped over a wall and ran away.

The injured man was found hiding in the bathroom while the other one was found in the neighbour’s back yard.
“Police confiscated an unlicensed weapon, home burglary equipment, stolen property and the vehicle used by the men,” Weilbach said.
“Police recovered a second gun on the neighbour’s roof suspected to belong to the second robber.”
Both men are from Mamelodi and will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
