Vukani Mawethu secondary school achieved an 85 percent matric pass rate in 2016.
A total of 21 learners obtained distinctions.
The four top achievers were Tokollo Wistebaar, Daniel Mampuru, Raohang Moloinyane and Salman Mmako.
Tokollo achieved four distinctions.
He obtained 84 percent for maths, 87 percent for physical science, 86 percent for geography and 80 percent for Sepedi.
Tokollo said he was happy with his results and planned to study environmental science at University of Pretoria.
Mampuru came in second place with three distinctions.
He obtained 84 percent for life orientation, 87 percent for business studies and 80 percent for Sepedi.
Mampuru said he planned to study engineering at the University of Johannesburg.
Raohang Moloinyane came third with two distinctions.
He optained 82 percent for geography and 82 percent for life orientation.
Moloinyane said he planned to study medicine at Sefako Makgatho University of Health Science.
Salman Mmako achieved with one distinction, obtaining 85 percent for Sepedi.
He said he planned to study LLB Law at the University of Johannesburg.
