NEWSFLASH: Mooikloof substation on fire
It wasn't yet clear what caused the fire at Mooikloof substation.
Residents of Mooikloof, Pretorius Park, parts of Garsfontein, Moreleta Park have been without electricity after a substation caught alight on Tuesday.
Tshwane emergency services spokesperson Johan Pieterse said it wasn’t yet clear what caused the fire at Mooikloof substation.
“Not sure whether it’s overloading or what, but the electricity department will investigate and will be able to shed a light.”

He said the substation was newly built.
Local councillor Reyaah Uys said the blackout affected a number of areas.
“It supplies Mooikloof, Pretorius park, parts of Garsfontein, Parts of Moreleta Park.”
Pieterse said the fire brigade was at the scene to put out the fire.
Tshwane metro apologised to the residents for the inconvenience caused.
