The drum majorettes of Tuinrand Primary School was established in 2010 and is affiliated with the Gauteng Majorette and Cheerleading Association. The team has been qualifying at the end of each season for the national competition, which is hosted by a different province every year.
During 2011 they competed in the SA national competition, hosted by KwaZulu-Natal and came seventh in their division.
In 2013 they competed in the SA national competition, hosted by Limpopo and came fourth in their division.
During 2014 and 2015 we did not attend the SA national competition.
In 2016 they competed in the SA national competition, hosted by Gauteng and the team fared well.
The team consists of 15 to 20 girls, of age groups between seven and 14 years old. The girls have a lot of spirit and are very eager to better their results at the South African national championships with their outstanding performances this year.
