Ryan Ketcha has stood out as a unique individual from the day he arrived at Southdowns College in grade 7.
In order to receive a white blazer, a pupil needs to obtain an honours award in three pillars of the school. However, this multi-talented recipient, has managed to achieve his honours in no fewer than four pillars – the first learner in the history of the school to achieve this.
Ryan achieved his academic honours for his consistent outstanding academic record. He has been in the top 10 for academics in his grade for the majority of his six years spent at Southdowns College.
His service to the school in unquestionable – often being the first to volunteer for events and the last to leave.
Besides being an exemplary musical leader at the school, his leadership abilities were once again evident in how he set the tone and ran the very first successful parliament of the school.
As the deputy head boy and head of SRC, Ryan is the epitome of what a servant leader should aspire to be. Ryan has been one of the major contributors to the arts for the past 6 years at Southdowns College. He is the school accompanist, choir accompanist, the musical director of the Fame musical and one of the lead actors.
He has also attained a grade 8 in Piano and violin – which is the highest level a music student can attain at school level. Outside of the school environment Ryan has also been part of the prestigious Symphony Juventus in prestigious first violin set for three years. Whether in sport, in parliament, on stage, or in the classroom, Ryan is one of the most highly acclaimed learners and ambassadors that Southdowns College has ever produced.
