A man said to be the mastermind behind hijackings in the city was finally arrested in Atteridgeville on Friday evening.
The Tshwane West police trio task team joined forces with the crime intelligence operatives in tracking down the notorious suspected robber and hijacker.

Police spokesperson Constable Mandlakayise Zwane said the man was wanted in connection with a spate of robberies and the hijackings of delivery vans in and around Pretoria.
“On Friday evening, the 24-year-old suspect was finally arrested by the Tshwane West trio task team after a tip-off. He was nabbed on 20th Street, Extension 7 in Atteridgeville,” he said.
“The suspect was also linked to 15 other robberies and hijackings in the area.”
Zwane said a number of suspected stolen items were found at a house in Makhaza Street in Saulsville.
“The items were seized as evidence of goods attained from proceeds of crime. Further investigations are underway and police hope to make more arrests soon,” he said.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
