A man was arrested after a murder in a tavern in Salvakop in central Pretoria at the weekend.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Tsietsi Lamola said the victim was apparently stabbed to death by a group of men in the early hours of Sunday.

He said the killing appeared to have been related to gang rivalry.
“Members of [the] Pretoria central sector policing attended to the complaint and through investigations a suspect was arrested on the same day,” Lamola said.

He said investigations were continuing.
Lamola said the 29-year-old arrested man was scheduled to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court.
