NEWSFLASH: Suiderberg man shot dead in house robbery

The victim was shot in the chest by four unknown men inside his home.

A man was shot and killed during a house robbery in Suiderberg, west of Pretoria on Monday evening.

Police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said this happened around 23:00.

“The victim was shot in the chest by four unknown men inside his home. It is believed that the victim was with his family at the time of the robbery,” he said.

Msimango said the robbers stole jewellery, TV, computer monitor, cellphones and a firearm before fleeing the scene.

“A case of house robbery and murder was opened at the Hercules police station. No arrests have been made.”

Bestcare ambulance service spokesperson Xander Loubser said the victim was in a critical condition when paramedics arrived on scene.

“He deteriorated and went into cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, he couldn’t pull through and was declared dead on the scene.

“The man leaves behind his wife and his teenage daughter,” Loubser said.
