UPDATE: No arrest yet after foetus discovered in Centurion

Foetus found wrapped in bloody towel, dumped in bin.

The person responsible for dumping a foetus into a rubbish bin in Centurion is yet to be arrested.

This after the gruesome discovery by refuse workers in Heuweloord on Monday.

Wierdabrug police spokesperson Captain Agnes Huma said an investigation was underway.

“We’ve opened a case of concealment of death,” she said.

ER24 paramedics were called to the scene after the discovery.

Spokesperson Russel Meiring said there was nothing paramedics could have done when they arrived on the scene.

He said: “Paramedics found the body lying inside the rubbish bin wrapped in a bloody towel.”

Meiring said it was evident the foetus had been there for some time.
