The police are searching for a car believed to have run over a pedestrian during a high speed chase on Thursday morning.
Police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller said the suspected blue VW Golf 6 was flagged down by the Brooklyn police but instead of pulling over, it sped away.

The police gave chase but lost eye on it in Solomon Mahlangu Drive,” said Miller adding that later Hi-Risk paramedics would be called to treat a pedestrian on the path the Golf had taken.
He said it was believed the pedestrian had been hit during the chase.

“The pedestrian was unfortunately declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
Head of the Hi-Risk medical team Gareth Pahl said paramedics found the pedestrian in a critical condition.
“They tried everything to save his life but unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries,” said Pahl.
Miller said the Golf was later spotted by the police in Irene, Centurion.
“Unfortunately the car got away again,” said Miller.
Miller asked the public to be on the lookout for the car.
He said the car would have some accident damage on it.
