UPDATE: Cops find car after high-speed chase Centurion taxi-rank

LISTEN: The car might be involved in the killing of a pedestrian.

A car involved in a high speed police chase on Thursday morning has been found at a taxi rank opposite the Centurion mall.

Police spokesman Captain Dave Miller said the blue Volkswagen Polo car was believed to have been also involved in a hit-and-run accident during the chase on Thursday.

A pedestrian was killed in the accident.

The vehicle was discovered by the police’s flying squad early on Friday afternoon.

Miller said it was hijacked in Norkem Park, a suburb in Kempton Park.

“No suspects were found during the discovery of the vehicle.”

The police’s tracing unit was on the scene for the collection of evidence and all leads would be followed up, said Miller.
