UPDATE: Centurion foetus dumper remains unknown

Police will investigate a concealment of death after the foetus discovery.

Police are still searching for the person who dumped a foetus in a dustbin in Centurion a week ago.

There have been no new developments in the case in which a foetus was discovered by refuse workers, police spokesperson Captain Agnes Huma told Rekord.

Huma previously said a case of concealment of death was being investigated.

The gruesome discovery was made in Heuweloord on Monday, 21 November.

There was nothing paramedics could do when they arrived on the scene, said ER24 emergency service spokesperson Russell Meiring.

“Paramedics found the body lying in a rubbish bin wrapped in a bloody towel,” he said.

Meiring said it was evident the foetus had been there for some time.
