Brooklyn and Sunnyside police say no cases of harassment by their officers have been reported.
This follows a source claiming to Rekord motorists in the Hatfield area were being harassed by the police.
The source, who requested to remain anonymous, said the men were driving around in vehicles fitted with police lights and were in full police uniform.
The source said the police officers targeted drivers leaving the Blue Room pub.
“…Then they stop you, accuse you of being drunk. If their breathalyser can’t detect any trace of alcohol in your system, they accuse you of jumping a red robot,” he said.
The source alleged that the so-called officers would place the person under arrest unless a bribe was offered.
“Then they will take your phone and licence, then drive with you to the nearest ATM,” the source said.

The source alleged that the coerced person would only get their belongings after paying a bribe.
Sunnyside police spokesperson Captain Daniel Mavimbela said no formal complaint has been lodged about such conduct.
“Any person who has fallen victim should report it to the nearest police station,” Mavimbela said.
Brooklyn police spokesperson Captain Colette Weilbach said nothing had been reported at their police station either.
“Motorists should not pay and report this kind of thing immediately,” she said.
She said the police would not stand for the harassment and coercion of the public.
