Three men, in their mid-thirties, were arrested after a high-speed chase from Centurion during a crime prevention operation on Friday morning.
Police spokesman Captain Dave Miller said community members in Doringkloof spotted a suspicious 1 Series BWM.
Miller said community members recognised the vehicle as it made regular appearances during house break-ins.
“The police went into the area looking for the vehicle.”
He said the car was then again spotted in Jean Avenue and the police went in pursuit.
Miller said while in a high speed chase, the suspects in the BMW narrowly escaped causing four accidents.

“The suspects drove down to Botha Avenue and sped onto the N1.”
Miller said the TMPD and the police’s tracing unit joined the chase with high performance vehicles and eventually caught up with the suspects before the N1/N14 split.
“The three suspects were arrested and house break-in tools were found inside the car.”
Miller said the car was positively identified from a hijacking incident in the Kliptown area.
He said the suspects will be profiled and could possibly be linked to several other cases in the Doringkloof area alone.

Miller also said there could be a possibility that the suspects might be linked to other house break-in cases in Pretoria as well.
“This operation was a huge success in partnership with the community, CPF, members of the community, security companies, TMPD and the police cluster,” said Miller.
He said the suspects will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s court on Monday.
