Murdered rally legend Jan Hettema’s daughter wants justice more than a year after his death.
Helena Hettema said she and her family were praying for the killers to be caught.
“We want to understand why he was killed so we can find peace,” she said.
Hettema, also a former South African cycling champion, was gunned down on his farm in Tweedracht in June last year.
The killers tied up his wife Elsa and shoved a worker in a cupboard.
The men then took off with a cellphone, laptop and jewelry.
National police spokesperson Colonel Katlego Mogale this week said no arrests had been made in connection with the killing.

“But leads are being followed.”
Helena, an established solo singer, said music helped her heal the loss of her father.
She said her latest music album Helena Hettem 21+was a way of honouring her father’s memory.
“Music has always had the power to heal. That’s what keeps me going.”

Hettema’s ashes were kept and would eventually be scattered on the 10 hector farm where he was killed, said Helena.
“Once the riddle has been solved, we will be able find peace and scatter his ashes.”
Hettema was a five-time South African
National Rally Driving Champion in his heyday.
He died at the age of 83.
