The two men arrested for possession of dagga, an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in East Lynne will appear in Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
Pretoria Moot police spokesperson Captain Anton Breedt said the two were arrested by police officers of the Tshwane Central cluster team with 1.7kg of dagga with a street value of R15 000 and two unlicensed firearms recently.
He said the police had been tipped off that the men were armed and carrying a large quantity of dagga.
“They were travelling in a grey BMW, which was stopped on the corner of Hertzog Street and 21st Avenue.
The police approached them with caution and during the search, two firearms with serial numbers filed off, ammunition and a large quantity of dagga were found in the boot and seized.”

“The unprocessed dagga already packed in small zip-lock bags was found with chemicals used to dry drugs.
Acting Pretoria Moot police station commander Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Nekhumbe commended the officers for their work and warned drug dealers and users that the police were coming for them.
“The Moot police has a zero tolerance against drugs and will use any means possible to bring them to book,” he said.
