UPDATE: Laudium double murder still a mystery

Nkosi's mother Nalina said three months had passed and she still could not believe her son was gone.

The double murder of two cricket coaches in Laudium remains a mystery.

Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said no arrests had been made and the investigation was continuing.

At this stage police could not confirm whether there were possible suspects, he said.

Given Nkosi (24) and Charlson Maseko (26) were found dead in September.

They were lying on a bathroom floor at a communal residence, next to the main cricket stadium in Laudium.

KFC mini-cricket coordinator Kagiso Masubelele (27) and Laudium hub head coach and coordinator Obed Harvey Agbomadzie (27) were seriously injured in the attack.

The four coaches shared two rooms at the residence.

Selepe, said the bodies were found by a resident who practices cricket in the mornings.

He informed the security guards who alerted the police around 07:00.

Nkosi’s mother Nalina said three months had passed and she still could not believe her son was gone.

She said she was at work that day when she got the news that her son was killed.

“I still feel the pain of the loss of my child and just wished that I could have held him one last time,” a heartbroken mother said.

The Laudium Cricket Club said the loss of their two coaches had left a void in their hearts and the cricketing community.

“The sportsmanship, integrity and values that have been displayed by these coaches from grass roots to senior levels will remain a legacy and we thank them for being part of our club,” the club said in a statement.
