Phumzile Chili was over the moon when she looked at her results
Mamelodi matriculants were among the class of 2017 who celebrated when the national senior certificate results were made available on Friday.
But none celebrated as much as Mamelodi Secondary School learner Itumeleng Sethlabane who proudly showed off her six distinctions from the lofty position of her even prouder father’s shoulders who begrudgingly bemoaned she was heavy.
Mamelodi High School’s Phumzile Chili was reduced to tears of joy after glancing her report card while Solomon Mahlangu High School teachers and learners boasted a 91.5 percent pass rate.
Teacher Elizabeth Mathiba bragged the school had achieved a 100% pass rate for mathematics and four distinctions for history.
“Our best learner was Bhekithemba Mahlangu,” she announced, adding he had obtained distinctions for science and maths.
