Heavy rain hits Pretoria

Motorists are urged to drive slower.

 

Heavy rains have started on Tuesday afternoon during peak traffic on the N1 highway north and southbound.

Weather SA earlier predicted hailstorms for Pretoria.

Motorists are urged to drive slower in extreme weather conditions.

Weather SA on Tuesday afternoon said the rainstorm should subside and that nothing new is approaching.

“We are monitoring the weather conditions and strong rains should be calm by 20:00,” said Weather SA’s forecasting services.

The forecaster also said chances of  hail is low.

Ward councillor in Centurion Ina Strijdom said she received reports of power outages.

Strijdom asked residents to be patient as electrical maintenance cannot happen efficiently during the rain.
