City dams full, but residents urged to save water

"These healthy dam levels are attributable to the generous rainfall in recent months."

Tshwane dam levels are at about 90 percent capacity, Tshwane mayor Solly Msimanga revealed on Friday.

“The healthy dam levels were attributable to the generous rainfall in recent months as well as good governance by the DA-led multi-party administration in Tshwane,” he said.

The current levels are:

– Roodeplaat: 98 percent

– Bronkhorstspruit: 90 percent

– Leeuwkraal: 100 percent

– Rietvlei: 99 percent

Despite these high dam levels, Msimanga appealed to residents to continue conserving water by using it wisely and sparingly.

“We would like to thank our residents for their diligence in this regard and encourage them to continue to do so during the summer months and beyond so that this becomes the norm,” he said.
