Bells ring at Southdowns College as pupils are welcomed into the 2018 school year.
Southdowns College commemorated the start of the school year with its traditional bell ringing ceremonies.
One pledged commitment to pupils and the other signified entry into school for the Grade 1s.
“At the high school, we ring the bell five times signifying our students from the Grade 8 to 12, rung by the youngest member of the new staff,” says Mark Smith, principal at the high school.
“At our prep school,” says principal Pierre Labuschagne, “our grade 1s have the opportunity to ring the bell once on entering the school for the first time.
