Hoërskool Centurion took the lead with a 100 percent pass rate of their matric class for 2017.
The school had 187 matric learners and 83.4 percent succeeded with bachelor passes and 16.6 percent with diploma passes.
Hoërskool Centurion is also proud of its 2017 head girl, Anika Lindeque who was the school’s top achiever with nine distinctions.
Anika passed the following subjects: Afrikaans home language (94), English first additional language (89), life orientation (97), mathematics (98), accounting (94), life sciences (93), physical sciences (94), business studies (88) and alpha maths (98).

In second place was Eugene Botha who also achieved nine distinctions: Afrikaans home language (86), English first additional language (88), life orientation (85), mathematics (97), engineering graphics and design (93), physical sciences (95), accounting (91), information technology (95) and alpha maths (95).
Elbie Gouws took third place with eight distinctions: Afrikaans home language (87), English first additional language (91), mathematics (91), life orientation (94), electrical technology (89), physical sciences (90), engineering graphics and design (82) and information technology (89).
