Hoërskool Akasia congratulates all its top achievers of 2017.
The school boasts a 97,54 % pass rate.
As many as 64,77% of learners passed with university exemption, 32,7% diploma and 2,51% higher certificate.
Boipelo Mokgale was the top achiever with an average of 83,6% and five distinctions.
Her subjects included: English 80%, Afrikaans 87%, life orientation 87%, mathematics 75%, physical science 78%, accounting 89% and business studies 89%.
Mokgale has big plans for the future. “My plans include qualifying as a chartered accountant, working for my favourite firm (PWC or EY) and helping NSFAS with funds – my long-term goal.”
Mokgale’s hobbies include reading, writing, socialising, travelling, playing sport and completing Sudoku puzzles.

Laetitia Kandolo got the second highest average of 82,8% and passed with four distinctions.
Her subjects included English 76%, Afrikaans 78%, life orientation 78%, mathematics 85%, CAT 94%, life sciences 83% and physical science 88%.
“For the next five years I plan to study dentistry at the University of Pretoria,” said Kandolo.
“I hope to find a job in South Africa, but my long-term plan is to move to another country – eventually.”
Kandolo’s interests include criminal investigations and during her free time she spends a lot of time doing research on the human brain.
Yolandi Scholtz got five distinctions with an average of 81,7%, having passed Afrikaans 85%, mathematics 65%, life orientation 84%, life sciences 85%, physical sciences 76% and engineering graphics and design 84%.
“I’m planning to study medicine,” Scholtz said.
Her interests include reading, writing, arts and playing the piano.
