A suspected robber was shot and wounded in the Pretoria CBD on Monday evening.
Netcare 911 emergency service spokesperson Tebogo Magoro said the incident happened around 18:30 in Skinner Street.
“On arrival Netcare 911 paramedics attended to a man in his 20s who had been shot in the pelvic region,” he said.
Magoro said the injured man was apparently part of a group of five who tried to rob a victim.
“The victim retaliated and shot one of the men. He suffered minor to moderate injuries. Medics assessed and gave the man pain medication before transporting him to a nearby hospital.”

Magoro said the sequence of events leading up to the shooting were not yet known.
Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said police were investigating the case but could not provide further details.
