A Mamelodi family is frustrated at how the local police are handling the case of a missing relative.
Chammy Sylvester Sojane (30) was reported missing on January 28 and his family say the police were yet to give them feedback on the investigation.
His brother Moses said instead the family were doing the work of the police.

He said he became concerned when the taxi driver failed to show up for a meeting the two had agreed the day before.
“I tried to reach him on the phone, but it was off … it has been off since,” said Moses.
Sojane had lived in Mamelodi East since 2015.
“We do not know much about his friends in Mamelodi,” said Moses.
“This is the very first time he has disappeared without a trace.”
Moses said the family had searched hospitals and mortuaries without success.
“We suspect he was going through a tough time but expected him to open up if he needed professional help,” said Moses.
“At some stage, we thought he was on a long-distance trip.”

The police said the case was still under investigation.
Moses invited anyone with information to call him at 082 456 1629.
“Or call the police on 08600 101111 or my brother Thabo 072 031 2123.”
