WEATHER: 84mm of rain in Pretoria in 24 hours

"Most of the rain was recorded from the eastern part of Pretoria."

About 84mm of rain has been received in Pretoria in the past 24 hours, the SA weather service has said.

Heavy rain poured throughout Wednesday evening.

“Most of the rain was recorded from the eastern part of Pretoria,” said forecaster Kumsa Masizana.

A video recorded at Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool showed some damage caused by the rain.

The spokesperson for the school Dirk Taljard said the school’s cafeteria and an office adjacent to it were flooded.

Another video was taken at Menlyn mall showing a leaking roof.
