Metro to improve roads in Ga-Rankuwa, Sosh
Msimanga said in Ga-Rankuwa X 10, a new contractor was appointed in February to revisit the existing incomplete infrastructure that has been vandalised over a period of three years.
The Tshwane metro mayor has undertaken to improve roads in Ga-Rankuwa.
Speaking during his state of the city address, Solly Msimanga said his administration would embark on the “construction of internal roads in Ga-Rankuwa Unit 9 (11,1 km), Soshanguve Block GG (2,3 km) and Soshanguve Block LL (1 km walkways) and upgrading gravel roads to tar”.
Msimanga said the metro had appointed a contractor in February to complete incomplete and vandalised infrastructure in Ga-Rankuwa X 10 over three years.
“However, we must note that what we have found in the sewers in this area has been shocking: blocks of concrete, bricks, logs and the carcasses of dead animals, all of which indicates an active attempt to sabotage our infrastructure,” he said.
He said about 700 residents of Ga-Rankuwa Zone 14, Mamelodi Ext 11, Atteridgeville Ext 11, Fort West Ext 4, Pienaarspooort, Olievenhoutbosch Ext 60 and Zithobeni Ext 9 would be connected to electricity.
