Motorist held up with fake pistol in Centurion
“He demanded her cellphone and handbag.”
The Lyttelton police are hunting for a suspect who held up a motorist on Tuesday morning with a fake pistol.
Police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller said the suspect pointed the “pistol” at the woman on the N1 southbound near Botha Avenue.
“He demanded her cellphone and handbag.”
Miller said two other motorists who saw what had happening tried to corner the suspect.

“He evaded these attempts and fled into the nearby dense bushes. I believe he sustained injuries that would need medical attention.”
Miller said the fake pistol and some clothing the suspect allegedly wore were found in the field by the Lyttelton crime prevention unit.
