NOTICE: Water supply interruption in Eersterust

Upgrades are part of a R14 million upgrade project by the metro.

Scheduled upgrades will result in water supply interruptions in Eersterust on Thursday.

The interruption will be from 08:00 to 18:00.

The Tshwane metro’s utility department will install a new water pipeline on the corner of Hans Coverdale and PS Fourie streets, according to metro spokesperson Selby Bokaba.

“The worsening conditions of the network infrastructure in Eersterust has prompted the metro to replace the approximately 45-year-old pipeline,” said Bokaba.

Work on the infrastructure started on 13 December 2017.

“From time to time, the network had to constantly be shut down which resulted in consumers not having water at regular intervals,” he said.

Bokaba said about 2 750 metres of water network pipes, isolation valves, fire hydrants and chambers will be replaced.
