The police in Atteridgeville are investigating burglaries at four schools in the area.
In separate crimes this month, thieves broke into the Flavius Mareka and Dr WF Nkomo high schools, Thoho-Ya-Ndou primary school and Atteridgeville Technical College.
They stole computers and food meant for the school nutrition programme.

Police spokesperson Captain Thomas Mufumadi said investigations were underway.
Gauteng education spokesperson Steve Mabona expressed concern over the crimes, saying many learners depended on the school nutrition programme for their first and last meal of the day.

“Going for a day or more without a meal affects the attendance and performance of these learners,” said Mabona.
