Two men were arrested in Mamelodi for alleged involvement in a housebreaking incident on Saturday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Captain Anton Breedt said on return from shopping, the homeowner found the gates open and was confronted by an armed man.
“The man told the homeowner to leave the premises.”

The homeowner alerted the security company who then swiftly responded.
Brinant security spokesperson Martin Barnard said the man was driving a white BMW x3 that had been involved in a spate of housebreaking incidents in the area in recent weeks.
He said the Garsfontein police and the community were asked to be on the lookout for the vehicle.
Barnard said the vehicle was traced to Nellmaphius, Mamelodi area by the Garsfontein police, The Task Tracing Team and Mamelodi East SAPS.

“After a short chase, the suspects were apprehended.
The vehicle was confirmed stolen and three firearms, housebreaking equipment and the goods stolen in the housebreaking incident were recovered.
“Two suspects were arrested,” he said.
Breedt said no injuries were reported.
